Fort Minor want fans for next video
posted by Jas, 10/20/06
AOL reports that Mike is looking for fans' video for the 'Remember the Name' music video, thanks to Wesley for the tip
Mike Shinoda is well into the next Linkin Park album, but that doesn't mean he's forgetting about his Fort Minor side project. He's doing a video for the track 'Remember the Name,' and he wants you. The video, he says, will look like a highlight reel: "All those kids who put up crazy stuff that they've done in sports -- extreme sports, basketball, kung fu -- we're going to make a Fort Minor 'Remember the Name' video out of your clips," he told AOL Music at the Fuse Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, where he and LP band mate Phoenix were presenters. "I love going on You Tube and seeing all the crazy s*** that people do," Shinoda said. "That's what really inspired me to want to do this."
Keep 'Remember The Name' on the radio
posted by Jas, 10/17/06
From FMM Newsletter: Fort Minor's "Remember The Name" is getting airplay on radio stations across the US - below are the list of stations that are currently playing the song. Please ONLY call in to make a request if you live in one of those cities or surrounding areas that the radio station is aired. If your local radio station is playing "Remember The Name", call in to say that you like the song and would like them to play it more! Make your requests as genuine and personal as possible. It's also important NOT to bombard them and you should space out your requests. It's best to call in to the radio station immediately after "Remember The Name" is played and let them know that you liked that song.
Another way to request "Remember The Name" is doing it online. Some stations listed have an option on their site to REQUEST/VOTE for the song. ANYONE can do this for ANY station. FMST, it's up to you now to keep "Remember The Name" on the air, so if you live in or near the area of these below radio stations, hit them up now!
Mike's artwork / Fort Minor Summer Sonic videos
posted by Jas, 10/04/06
A link to Gallery 1988 was posted on Fort Minor's Myspace blog yesterday, I'm guessing that that's where Mike's artwork will be displayed. Mike did say in his LPU chat back in August that he planned to have his first gallery art show in LA so keep checking the site for any update. Thanks to Lorenzo for the tip. Update: More info from LinkinPark.com. Update II: Check out a video clip of Mike's art in his garage. While you're there check out another shot of Fort Minor performing 'Where'd You Go' and 'Remember the Name' live at the Summer Sonic Festival.
Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park/Fort Minor invites you to his first art show, titled "Diamonds Spades Hearts Clubs," to be held on November 19th from 7-10pm at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles, CA. If you're in the L.A. area, drop by on Nov. 19th and you will get a chance to view, in person, the ten paintings that Mike made for the Fort Minor album, as well as thirteen other Shinoda works, and brand new collaborative works with Craola, Gary Baseman, Dalek, SEEN, and Mr. Hahn. Admission is free. There will also be a chance to purchase Mike Shinoda prints, programs, and other merchandise online (more details to come). Some proceeds from the show will go to the Michael K. Shinoda endowed scholarship at the Art Center College of Design. Come and show your support, and if you're in the L.A. area then Mike hopes to see you all there!
