What's up LPU... Just wanted to tell you a little bit about the new "Live in Texas" CD/DVD we're putting out November 18th in the US and November 17th Internationally. We filmed this during our Summer Sanitarium shows in August in Texas and we feel it gives everyone a chance to relive the live Summer Sanitarium show. We know that some LP fans never got the chance to attend this tour so this gives everyone a chance to experience our performance. Touring with Metallica was such an amazing experience and we want to share it with all of you. We look forward to releasing this album and hope you all enjoy it.
Also, we're working on putting together the 3.0 package and can't wait for you all to get it. We're trying to change up the package a little every year to keep it new for all of the members and we hope you enjoy it.
Also, be sure to check out the new www.linkinpark.com site. We've added a new section called the LPC (Linkin Park Community) where everyone can post their own online journal to share with other LP fans.

Making a case for rock

Another review of the Malaysian concert with an interview with Phoenix. Phoenix revealed a liking for golf (he played a few rounds at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club the day before the concert). He loves Satay (local food) and he likes being hit by a water bottle lol! " "We're really fortunate that there haven't really been a lot of incidents while we're out there playing. Sometimes you do get hit with a water bottle or something like that, but I wouldn't really chalk that up to an 'incident' level. I kind of like it when I get hit with a bottle on stage, I honestly don't know why! I guess it's the thrill of having to dodge things while I'm playing my guitar, that's quite hard to do," said Phoenix.

Linkin Park rocks to the rules
E-Media, 10/16/03
American nu-metal band Linkin Park stamped its mark on Kuala Lumpur last night, when it played to the biggest concert in the city in recent years in historic Stadium Merdeka. The magnitude of the show was not only measured by the turnout of about 20,000 which had gathered by the late afternoon, but also by the current standing of the Southern Californian act as the toast of the genre. After a total of 10 songs including hit singles Somewhere I Belong and Papercut, Bennington took to the mike and rallied the audience to join in unison for three hearty shouts of 'Malaysia Boleh!'. A wide grin followed before he added, "Yeah, nothing's impossible!".

On the cutting edge: Nu Metal
Di-ve, 10/14/03
As the recognised masters of the art -- Linkin Park demonstrate, New Metal is a technique of music that seeks to amalgamate different music styles often deemed diametrically opposed. From the intersection of rap with rock, derive the birth pangs engulfing the conception of New Metal by innovative and experimental bands such as Slipknot and Korn.

Phat warmers
The Star Online, 10/13/03
Opening act for LP on Wednesday, Too Phat, is ready to rap and rock! "Linkin Park is totally hip hop in many ways. They were down with Mista Sinista, Rob Swift and Roc Raida and we've seen what Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park rapper) did with the X-ecutioners a few years ago. And they've also got (DJ) Joseph Hahn who is pretty old school in delivery. So I don't think Too Phat will be too out of place at Stadium Merdeka."

The evidence suggests they're the biggest band in the world. So why do so few admit to liking Livid headliners Linkin Park, asks Dino Scatena.
It's too easy to be cynical about Linkin Park. Had they not staked such a serious claim to being the biggest band in the world today, we might have ignored them altogether.

Injured pupil: Bands blamed
Wakefield Today, 10/03/03
The mother of a teenager who cut herself with a blade in class says song lyrics from bands such as Linkin Park contributed to her daughter harming herself. Speaking exclusively to the Wakefield Express she said many bands portrayed a bad image to youngsters through their song lyrics. A Linkin Park lyric from One Step Closer:
"Everything you say to me takes me one step closer to the edge, And I'm about to break."
