World premiere of 'Home Sweet Home'
posted by Jas, 09/27/05
The remake of 'Home Sweet Home' by Motley Crue and Chester Bennington will be available at iTunes starting today. Electronic Press Kit including artist interviews and preview of the new "Home Sweet Home" video will be available via satellite today at 8:30 am PT and 10:30 am PT & 11:30 am ET and 1:30 pm ET. The music video is now available for viewing exclusively at http://www.aolmusic.com (or click here)

"The chance to perform with these guys for such a great cause is something really special," said Chester Bennington. "Hopefully, people will embrace it in the way it was intended. The song really does fit the sentiment and something special happened when we pulled it together. Everyone felt as if they were doing something really important." Said Nikki Sixx, "This song, both musically and lyrically, relates to many of the things that are happening now, as the hardest hit areas set out to rebuild."

Added Sixx, "Chester was originally scheduled to play the MTV "ReAct Now" benefit concert in Los Angeles but when he heard what we were doing he wanted to help with this song and video and chose to do his performance in Nashville with us. He flew in late the night before and was in the studio early the next morning. Chester is a real artist that will be making a difference for a long time." "I have to really give it up to these guys for what they've done," said Bennington. "Considering they had a show the night before and then another the night after, it's a testament to how awesome a rock band they are and how much this cause means to them."

The song will be available exclusively on iTunes starting today (9/27). Distributed by The Orchard, the track will later be carried by all other major digital music services in the US including eMusic, Napster, MSN, Real/Rhapsody, and Yahoo!/Musicmatch. The Orchard will also supply the single through its distribution partnerships with leading mobile companies.

Motley Crue, Chester Bennington and The Orchard are donating 100% of their proceeds to be evenly split between Mercy Corps and the American Red Cross. A specially produced music video for the single will make its debut as part of AOL Music's First View program today (9/27). The video will be available exclusively at http://www.aolmusic.com for 24 hours before it's available anywhere else. Later it will appear on all major music television outlets.

A CD single release is planned for the song for traditional retail outlets and will include exclusive behind-the-scenes "making of" documentary. -- Full press release

Late news update
posted by Jas, 09/24/05
Just want to apologise for the delay in news updates lately because I'm promoting this movie and this movie at the moment and this will continue till December, so life's gonna be pretty crazy the next couple of months :-). I haven't forgotten the release of Fort Minor's "The Rising Tied" album on November 22 so any earth shattering news about it will be posted asap. I'm sure promo for the album will probably start next month (god help me!), I'll keep an eye on it and if there's any report or interview on your local tv or radio station please let me know. As for the single from the album, instead of posting multiple messages about which single it's gonna be I thought I would wait till the official word is out or the CD itself is out because right now it looks like they can't make up their mind which one to choose, I even heard rumours that they've shot two videos *rolls eyes*.

Mike Shinoda Announces the Release of Fort Minor
    posted by Jas, 09/20/05
    Official press release from
PR Newswire on the release of Fort Minor's "Rising Tied" on November 22.

Mike Shinoda will release his much-anticipated hip-hop side project under the name Fort Minor on November 22nd on Linkin Park's label Machine Shop Recordings / Warner Bros. Records. The album, titled "The Rising Tied," is executive produced by Jay-Z and features collaborations with such well-known artists as Common, John Legend, Kenna, Black Thought, Linkin Park's Joe Hahn and new Machine Shop artists Styles of Beyond and Holly Brook. The album is produced by Shinoda, who not only wrote every track, but played nearly every instrument as well

"The Fort Minor record is all about getting back to basics in hip-hop, both sonically and for me personally," shared Shinoda. "And working with Jay-Z again has been phenomenal. We can't wait for people to hear the final product." Currently the club 12" "Petrified"/"Remember the Name" is being shipped to club and mix show DJs nationwide. Both tracks will be available for download starting October 4th online.

Shinoda is half the vocal firepower of the multi-platinum, Grammy® Award-winning band Linkin Park, trading diaphragmatic diatribes with singer Chester Bennington and infusing the searing alternative rock with equally intense hip-hop. Fort Minor is a wholly unique, unadulterated hip-hop album, owing as much to Shinoda's polished lyricism as his musical adeptness. The variety of themes, styles and moods he creates makes this side project likely to do much more than simply satisfy existing Linkin Park fans; it threatens to expose Shinoda as a rap devotee who is as at home in hip-hop as he is in the cross-genre hybrid of Linkin Park.

Multiple Grammy® Award-winning group Linkin Park has sold over 35 million records worldwide in just five years. Their first album, "Hybrid Theory," has been certified platinum 18 times, and their second album, "Meteora," ten times. In collaboration with Jay-Z they also released six tracks on a groundbreaking EP, "Collision Course," which garnered rave reviews. They plan to release their next album in Spring 2006. In addition, Linkin Park established Music For Relief with the Red Cross in January 2005 to help aid victims of world catastrophes, the first being the Tsunami in Southeast Asia. For more information on Linkin Park, Fort Minor and Music For Relief, please log on to www.linkinpark.com, www.fortminor.com or www.musicforrelief.org

    'Home Sweet Home' charity single
    posted by Jas, 09/12/05
Nikki Six posted on his online diary that Motley Crue entered the studio over the weekend to record 'Home Sweet Home' with Chester Bennington and will be released as a single and proceeds will go to a hurricane relief fund. No info if this will be released internationally or just the US.

First and foremost, we, the band, want and need to thank everyone behind the scenes who busted their asses to make yesterday such a magical day. Traveling through the night to get us set up and organized was no easy task, but everybody knew that this wasn't about them… it's about awareness and hopeful funds for the people of New Orleans who have been left destitute. Also Chester and all his people who did any and everything to get to Nashville need to be complimented as well. I think we speak for all the bands and artists who performed when we say thank you to everybody behind the scenes. Now is the time we're asking you to react. Please donate. Please pick up the phone or go online and make a difference. Don't wait, our government already did that… Do it now… thank you.

    Behind-the-Scenes at the 2005 VMA Pre-Parties
    posted by Jas, 09/11/05
Hollywood.com has posted a report on the Behind-the-Scenes at the 2005 VMA Pre-Parties and they talked to Chester.

Chester Bennington of Linkin Park wouldn't have it any other way. As the event's official celeb sponsor, he lounged by the pool with his fiancé by his side. All play and no work? No way. I pulled Chester aside for a little chat. How was he digging Miami thus far? "I got in last night, pretty late," he told me. "I haven't had a chance to get out, but I'm staying at the Setai [Hotel] and it's really cool. Other than that, I'm hanging here with our friends from Cain. They asked me to host it for them. I said, 'Sure. If it means I can sit by the pool and drink all day.'" Not a bad gig if you can get it. We went on to discuss his picks for Best Rock Video (a toss up between The Killers, My Chemical Romance, and Green Day's "best album they've written") and his new obsession with Missy Elliot's new album. We parted ways and I hopped into my Hummer

    Let Down

And the tears fall like rain
    Down my face again
Oh the words you wouldn't say
    And the games you played
    With my unfoolish heart
Oh I should have known this from the start

    Oh the winter and spring
    Going in hand in hand
Just like my love and pain
How the thought of you cuts deep within the vein
Oh this brand new skin stretched across scarred terrain

I don't want to be let down
I don't want to live my life again
Don't want to be led down the same old road
So I don't want to be let down
I don't want to live my lies again
Don't want to be led down the same old road

All those years down the drain
Love was not enough when you want everything
What I gave to you and now the end must start
Oh I should have listened to my heart

'Cause I don't want to be let down
I don't want to live my life again
Don't want to be led down the same old road
So I don't want to be let down
I don't want to live my lies again
Don't want to be led down the same old road

    Oh...

I don't want to be let down
I don't want to live my life again
Don't want to be led down the same old road
So I don't want to be let down
I don't want to live my lies again
Don't want to be led down the same old road

Got this LPU newsletter too yesterday but forgot to post it, it's about a Director's Label DVD which will feature Mark Romanek's best work which includes the "Faint" video. More info from the newsletter below.

Many of you participated in the Linkin Park video shoot for "Faint" and remember standing in a crowd in front of a wall of lights, jumping and screaming at the top of your lungs while the band played "Faint" onstage. The experience was great and the finished music video even more amazing. This was the genius of director Mark Romanek.

This coming September, Palm Pictures will be releasing their next series of Director's Label DVDs featuring the work of groundbreaking directors, including Mark Romanek. The DVD will feature Romanek's best work in music videos, exclusive new works, as well as interviews and commentaries from the artists and other collaborators. This includes commentary from Mr. Hahn on "Faint."

"…We come from a visual background and we're really hard on making everything enhance where the music's going. For me, there's only a short list of directors that I would trust as far as making that happen and Mark Romanek is definitely one of them."

To help promote Linkin Park, any or all of the other artists featured above, and/or Mark Romanek's work, sign up for the Online Directors at onlinedirectorsteam.com.
