Chester picks Japan's Summer Sonic Festival as the Best Festival from Rolling Stone's Best of Rock 2008

The problem with U.S. festivals is that they have mostly American and British groups, so you're not getting a real glimpse of what's out there. But at Summer Sonic in Japan, they have a bunch of international acts, all playing at this outdoor stadium that's broken up into indoor arenas of different sizes.

Dead By Sunrise debut

According to Julien-K board, Dead By Sunrise will make it's first appearance on stage at the Club Tattoo anniversary party on May 10. Update: Chester has confirmed that he will be performing Dead By Sunrise music at the party and added that they might record the show and make it available for everyone to hear.

Hey everyone what's up? It's been awhile since I've posted anything so i wanted to keep you in the loop. On May 10 we at Club Tattoo are celebrating our 13th anniversary. Julien K will be performing as well as Rabbit in the Moon. There will also be some of the dopest DJ's around spinning. It's going to be awesome as always. But, the big surprise is that I will be performing Dead by Sunrise music live for the first time in front of an audience. We have been practicing and promise to kick ass. Maybe I'll record the performance and put it out there for everyone so you won't have to rely on someone's phone mix. MTV News producer Yasmine Richard spent yesterday afternoon on the set of Busta Rhymes' video for "We Made It," featuring the boys of Linkin Park. She wrote in from the abandoned warehouse in downtown LA: So we spent the first hour waiting and watching director Chris Robinson's crew set up Mike Shinoda's piano solo shot. And when Mr. Shinoda rolled up, he told us he had some fond memories: Linkin Park shot the cover of their second album, the massive Meteora, right on that spot.

And, you know how it goes: 2 1/2 hours later we're still waiting — when Bussa Bus, Mike, and Chester start shooting their performance. I've got to say, it's an unusual-looking group to see together. Seriously. But somehow, when Chris paired the visuals with the vibe of the song, it just felt right. Whatever. You'll have to wait like everybody else until this thing premieres…Busta's newly re-titled album, Blessed, is due this summer

Mike has updated his blog with a little bit more info about Busta Rhymes' new single and video which feature Linkin Park.

we are pleased to announce a new song, about to hit the streets…a new collaboration we did with the incomparable busta rhymes. chester, busta, and i just shot the video with director chris robinson. the song is called "we made it" and will be featured on busta's new album "blessed." chester sings on the hook (i did some harmonies) and i do the second verse. i did some production work on it, and brad laid down some guitar at the end.

as many of you may realize, this is the first time LP has been "featured" on a new song by any artist. we have done individual cameos in the past (and did a "mash-up" of existing songs with a certain mr. s-dot-carter) but this is the first time you have seen "featuring linkin park" on any all-new song. for my part, the thing that drew me in was the musicality of the track and the sincerity of busta's performance. it's a song about overcoming adversity and celebrating the difficult obstacles that we overcome. i loved writing to it, and hope you all enjoy the song, which should be out soon.

also, keep an eye on our linkinparktv youtube channel for video footage and a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot and creation of the song. to round out the experience, busta told me that he's setting up a charity foundation (tentatively) called the "we made it foundation" that will be rewarding young students for quarterly excellence in academics and discipline—at home and at school. more to come. and just for fun…one of my favorite busta songs from a few years back…WOO-HAAAAA

Busta Rhymes first single from his new album will not only feature Linkin Park but both Mike and Chester will also appear in the music video. The song is called 'We Made It', it will be directed by Chris Robinson and shot in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 15. The video will be released in May while the album, "Blessed" is set to be released on June 17.

Not only is multi-platinum two-time Grammy-winning rock band Linkin Park featured on the first single from acclaimed hip-hop innovator Busta Rhymes' new album, but the band 's co-lead vocalists Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda will also appear in the song's performance video. "We Made It," directed by Chris Robinson, will be shot in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 15. The intriguing culture-mashing collaboration reflects the theme of "We Made It." Says Rhymes of the song: "It ain't just about the 'hood, it ain't just about the suburbs, it's about everybody. This is one of those songs that can't be described better than touching the souls of the common people." "We Made It," produced by Cool and Dre, with additional production by Mike Shinoda, and its video will be released in May, prior to the debut of Rhymes' eighth studio album, Blessed (Flipmode/Aftermath/Interscope), on June 17.

I was over at Amazon.com to order a copy of National Treasure Blu-ray DVD and thought I would do a search on Linkin Park for fun and something new came up. It's a documentary DVD about Linkin Park called "Linkin Park: From A Whisper To A Scream", it's probably another one of those unofficial release or maybe not, I don't know, the release date is July 8, 2008. I say wait for some kind of official announcement or at least customer's review before you pre-order it. Update: Mark86 reports that the DVD is also available for pre-order at Amazon UK and Germany as well as at Plastichead.com which includes a description below. The release date on all these sites is April 28.

While most of their original contemporaries have either disappeared or become virtually redundant, Linkin Park are the one band from what came to be termed 'nu-metal' to remain potent, exciting, relevant and hugely successful. And more than a decade into what can only be called an astonishing career, there appears to be no stopping this dynamic collective, as they delight fans and critics alike with each new release.

This documentary film tell the full and candid story of the group from their humble origins in Agoura Hills, California, to their status today as a world class rock band with more than 50 million album sales under their belt. As we know, there are like gazillion fan made music videos or home videos on YouTube that have Linkin Park's music as the soundtrack, now I don't usually post this kind of thing but since there's nothing much to report I guess I'll make it an exception this time. I received an email from Chihiro about BOTY or "Battle of the Year", it's the biggest and most well known international breakdancing competition, she sent me two videos where Linkin Park and Fort Minor songs were used and I must say they are amazing! I've never seen LP/FM's music being used like that. It's unbelievable how the dancers didn't break their neck or every bones in their body while doing their routine, amazing! Not really news but thought I would mention it anyway, the LPN widget skin has been updated with the Projekt Revolution theme, they've added a PR section with music videos from each of the bands who are on the PR tour. They should've added one of Chris Cornell's vids from the MSN concert like his version of Michael Jackson's 'Billy Jean' instead of the Audioslave music video because that is just... as they say, dope! just my humble opinion :-).

watch Chris' MSN concert here before you see him in on the PR tour this summer, truely one of the best voices in rock imho, best viewed when the volume is turned up high... I'm a fan can't you tell? ;-)

The Pulse of Radio reports: Linkin Park announced details last week for the fifth edition of the Projekt Revolution tour, which will get underway on July 16 in Boston. The festival-type trek joins an already crowded summer schedule that features the Warped Tour, the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour, most likely some version of Ozzfest, plus stand-alone festivals such as Lollapalooza, Coachella, Rock on the Range and several brand new events.

But Linin Park singer Mike Shinoda said in a teleconference with reporters that he wasn't worried about the increased competition. "In any situation where, you know, these tours cross paths, that's a concern on that end, but I mean, if you're a fan of the bands that are playing, you're gonna go to the show, that's how I look at it," he said. "I mean, for me, when I was growing up, going to shows like, you know, Lollapalooza or just going to different tours that bands were playing in town, it wouldn't matter if they were playing days apart. If I liked the band and I could afford the tickets, then I would do that."

San Francisco-native actor Will Yun Lee goes AWOL as Sung in The Seed, the new movie by Linkin Park's Joe Hahn, which chronicles Sung's descent into madness as a homeless war veteran suffering shell shock and possibly sun stroke. Lee's pretty convincing as a paranoid loner who basically goes nuts — maybe he was just channeling some of that madness from news that NBC hated his show Bionic Woman and is putting it out of its misery for good. In the meantime, support The Seed on iTunes, and help artists pay the rent!

Shinoda: Projekt Revolution not done with rap

Each of the guys in the band are involved in a different category of our existence. Each guy is a chairperson for different things. One of my things is art, one of my things is in the studio. Dave works a lot with sponsorships, and Chester works a lot with the shows and the tours, and Rob Bourdon is on that committee as well. So the two of those guys headed it off, and when they got to the point with a summer tour, for example Projekt Revolution, they put together all the tour, the ideas, and when they got to the point where it was possible, where they were talking to bands that were available and had open schedules and etcetera, then they presented it to the whole band."

Club Tattoo anniversary

The 13th anniversary celebration for Club Tattoo will take place on May 10 at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona. Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday April 11. Update: Jen reports that you can buy tickets to the Club Tattoo 13th Anniversary party at Etix. Sale goes on until Friday.

According to The Pulse of Radio, Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington and his partners have announced the 13th anniversary celebration for their Club Tattoo shops, scheduled for May 10 at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona. Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday (April 11). The evening will feature live performances from electronic outfit Rabbit In The Moon, Projekt Revolution alumni Julien-K and Bennington himself, along with DJ sets from Jeremy Dawson of Shiny Toy Guns and others. Bennington said in a statement, "Being able to celebrate our 13th year with Club Tattoo is amazing. These parties have always been special to us and we've always enjoyed being able to have great artists and fans come out to help us celebrate."

Bennington and his partners have also launched a men's clothing line called Ve'cel which is sold through all the Club Tattoo outlets. Bennington told The Pulse of Radio that the line has gotten off to a solid start. "It's doing very well," he said. "We're a new company, we're very small and we're doing things kind of grassroots. We don't just want to overhype it and throw it out in everybody's face. We want people to actually buy it because they like it. And with Club Tattoo, we're opening a store in Vegas and Ve'cel will be our premiere line there."

I missed like five to ten minutes of the beginning of the show, was watching Oprah and almost forgot about it, don't know what I missed but I managed to grab from the time they talked about supermodel Naomi Campbell's arrest till the end of the show. Chris Cornell also called in from Paris to talk about the upcoming Projekt Revolution tour and among other topics talked about is Benoda :-). Please note that the show contains adult content, I was busy doing something else and let my capturing software running after the end of the show and caught Chester's one liner promo for Loveline which is quite raunchy (part 4), Mike said you can't say that but you know Chester :-), download files here. According to State magazine, Linkin Park with special guests Queens of the Stone Age will play at the RDS Arena on Sunday 22nd June. Tickets from $69.50 euro including booking fee are on sale Wednesday 9th April at 8am. Please wait for official announcement before making any plans. Update: Date is confirmed and LP has added another date, Stadthalle in Graz, Austria on June 18, LPU presale starts April 4 at 9 am, public sales on April 7 at 9 am, all times local.

VSM posted a message at LPMB saying that Joe will be at Cinespace in Hollywood this Thursday, April 3rd, 2008 for the Very Short Movies Festival in Los Angeles. The VSM site has also posted the full The Seed film online, watch here, register and vote for the film, winners will be announced on April 12. The Fort Minor's track is used during the end credit. If this is an April Fools joke then Joe's appearance is false but the full video is true, so for those who can't buy it on iTunes, go to the site and watch, it's really good.
