LP interview in Capricho magazine

WesleyLPBR reports that there will be an interview with Linkin Park in the upcoming issue of Brazilian magazine, Capricho, which will be out on Feb 15. Concert promoter, Gabriel Simas is in London to interview the band for the magazine and he will have the infos on LP's visit to Brazil as well as a review of the London show, so pick up the magazine to find out the details.

Review of Linkin Park's concert at the Arena in Nottingham.

As Linkin Park pumped out their anthemic tunes, they warned Nottingham that the rest of the country had to live up to their first night welcome. As the initial stop on the four-city UK leg of the current tour, the band had high hopes for their big Arena gig. And fans didn?t disappoint. They opened with What I?ve Done, the first hit from their new album Minutes to Midnight. It got the crowd already on top form after Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro's energetic warm-up ? off to a roaring start.No More Sorrow followed, continuing the angry, Nu-metal baseline that Linkin Park are now renowned for.

As the beats got heavier, the headbanging started. An extravagant light show added to the atmosphere of the show. The mood changed in the middle of the performance with a short cover of The Cure's classic Just Like Heaven. That led to the new single, Shadow of the Day a slower, more contemplative anthem. This soon changed with the crowd pleaser, Crawling. But the real show-stopper was Numb.

The camera phones were out in force by this point, to capture lead singer Chester Bennington's energetic use of the stage. The rest of the band, including rapper Mike Shinoda, seemed to be relishing their first night's gig in this country. The encore started with a poignant edge thanks to My December and Breaking the Habit, which saw a spot of audience participation with a light show of lighters and glowing mobiles. The crowd were wanting more, and they got it with the hit One Step Closer. As one of the band's first hits leading to eventual chart popularity, it seemed like the whole arena knew the words and were singing along. A true showman to the end, Chester ripped his top off as he belted out the last notes. All told, it was a successful start to what promises to be a memorable arena tour.

Linkin Park frontman Chester Benningto was determined not give up on the band - even when they were rejected by record labels over 50 times. The singer lead the group - then known as Hybrid Theory - into numerous showcase gigs for label executives and were turned every time. The rockers were eventually signed to the Warner Brothers label in 2000 and Bennington, 31, insists he is glad he didn't give up on his musical dream. He says, "We played over 50 showcases for label guys and we got turned down multiple times. It was tough. "I was f**king miserable. The only thing keeping me going was knowing that we had something special going on. I knew this was the one."

Bennington: "Music saved me from childhood abuse"

In an interview with Wenn, Chester said music saved him from childhood abuse.

Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington has opened up about the abuse he suffered as a child - insisting it is the reason he turned to a career in music. The In The End hitmaker claims to have suffered years of sexual abuse throughout his childhood at the hands of an older male friend. And Bennington insists the traumatic experiences forced him to express his feelings through writing poems and song lyrics. The 31-year-old believes forming his first band, Grey Daze, helped save his life. He says, "It was an awful time. I hated everyone in my family. I felt abandoned by my mum, my dad was not very emotionally stable then, and there was no one I could turn to. "The relationship I had with that band was the first time I felt a connection with anybody. From then on, I started getting some confidence back. I also found it a good way to escape the abuse of my past."

Chester's clothing line, Ve'cel, is now selling in Orange Country.

Ve'cel, which hit stores last year, can be found at the following Orange County shops, said brand manager Matt Tumolo: Relic Street & Style at the Irvine Spectrum Center, The Look at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, Disney Vault 28 at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, Planet Funk at Brea Mall. Mark Morreale, store manager for the Irvine Relic, whose business is based in Lake Forest, has been selling Ve'cel since around December. "It's selling well," Morreale said. "When people first see the artwork on the clothes, they think it's cool. Once they find out it's Chester, they like it even more."

Linkin Park will play some shows in the round

The Pulse of Radio reports that Linkin Park's some of the upcoming US shows will have the stage set up for a 360 degree show.

Linkin Park will sport a brand new stage set and production when the band heads out on its North American tour, which begins on February 12 in Omaha, Nebraska. During a teleconference with reporters on Friday (January 11), co-vocalist Mike Shinoda revealed that ticket demand in some cities has led the band to open up the entire arena and give the group a chance to play in the round. "A number of shows are being sold at 360 degrees," he said. "So that means that the stage is obviously set up for a 360 degree show, and a number of venues, such as Staples Center, Madison Square Garden, they sold out to 270 degrees, so now we opened it up to 360. So it's a great thing that the shows are selling out and we're able to open them up and play in the round." The New York show at the Garden on February 21 and the Los Angeles show at the Staples Center on March 4 are the only confirmed 360-degree shows so far.
