Shrednews has a review of some of the tracks from Dead By Sunrise debut CD, "Out Of Ashes"
One of my personal favorites from the album is the beautiful Give Me Your Name, a song about being in love. Something about Chester's soft voice as he begins "Give me a smile/Give me your name girl" seems to completely emulate the dreamlike quality of meeting somebody 'perfect' for the first time; the feeling of butterflies and the strong urge to smile constantly. It continues in this way throughout and is almost like a lullaby that entices you to join this fantasy world, to feel this same wonderful emotion that he is feeling. Full review.

Another track from Dead By Sunrise "Out Of Ashes" album called 'Inside of Me' is now streaming on DBS MySpace page. The band will be the featured guests on Rockline on Monday night September 28 at 8:30pm PT / 11:30pm ET. Fans are encouraged to call to speak with the band at 1-800-344-ROCK (7625). For a station near you and for information regarding how to log onto the Internet for the broadcast go to www.RocklineRadio.com. The show will then be streamed for two weeks on the Rockline website beginning the afternoon following the broadcast.

Tattoo Stories book

Digital artist, Tom Martinez Jr. has posted on his blog about his involvement with Smart Imagination, they are currently working on a book called Tattoo Stories which contains a forward by Chester and it will be released in fall 2009. Part of the profits will go to Starlight Foundation to support kids and families in need of assistance though medical hardships. Tom also mentioned that they are working on some promo videos for Dead By Sunrise and Club Tattoo Las Vegas.

Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda has unveiled his latest art exhibition in Los Angeles. The American rocker is displaying his 'Glorious Excess (Dies) art exhibit which explores obsessions with celebrity culture and consumer addictions. 'This show follows the story of a central fictional celebrity character,' explained Shinoda, 32.'And people ask me am I him or is he me -- whatever. Kind of not,' 'I think this character is more the exaggerated super rock star, movie star kind of guy. He's dangerous, he's world famous, he's kind of isn't necessarily good at or great at anything but he's really good at staying famous. And he does that over and over through the course of the show. And 'Glorious Excess (Dies)' is about his following that path to the conclusion which inevitable is kind of like at a certain point he can't any more famous without going away,' he said.

Mike has updated his blog saying that he is now back in the studio, the band started a song the other day "that sounds like Queen meets AC/DC meets hardcore techno". Some of the fans questions have been answered and Mike also mentioned that he did a track featuring Celph Titled and B-Real of Cypress Hill on a new Apathy album called "Wanna Snuggle?", you can hear it here.

Nominations for Scream Awards 2009 are out and Linkin Park have been nominated for Scream Song of the Year for 'New Divide' from the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, click here to vote for LP. The 4th annual Scream Awards presentation honoring the blockbuster, sci-fi, fantasy, horror and comic book film genres will be taped in Los Angeles on Saturday October 17 at the Greek Theatre, and broadcast on Spike TV in the US on October 27 at 10 pm ET/PT.
