The band have chosen the winner of the Linkin Park Featuring You contest, the winning remix of The Catalyst will get a spot on Linkin Park's upcoming album A Thousand Suns. Here's Mike's announcement posted on his blog
We've been calling it a premix contest: the "Linkin Park Featuring You" contest on MySpace has now come to a close, and we have a winner. No joking around this time…our winner is:NoBraiN!!!
His real name is Czeslaw (his nickname is Chex) and he's an English teacher from Swidnica, Poland. I had an amazing conversation on Skype with him, where I told him the good news. Video of that is coming soon. As I've said before, the quality of the MySpace remixes were amazing–even better than we had expected. Thank you all for your music and your votes. I'll be giving away a full list of the top 20 finalists here on mikeshinoda.com shortly.

Mike has updated his blog saying that the winner of Linkin Park Featuring You contest will be announced this weekend.
We found our winner. In the past few weeks, the band, our management, MySpace, and our friends sifted through the thousands of submissions. We searched the top 100, and then we went deeper. Using randomly-generated recommendations on Indaba, and searching by date, we found 20 finalists. A few days ago, my bandmates and I listened to the top 20. We voted, and we've got a winner.

LP Association reports that BBC Radio 1 DJ, Zane Lowe tweeted that the first play of new Linkin Park will be on Monday night on the Hottest Record at 7:30 pm. He describes The Catalyst as "very good. And not what I expected at all. Sound wise, very little guitar replaced by an up tempo, almost jungle rhythm, urgent synth line and a really strong vocal."

Chester is among the guest artist on Blink 182's Travis Barker's upcoming solo album titled, Give The Drummer Some and is scheduled for release on September. And as we know, Chester will also be on Santana's new album "Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics Of All Time" which hits stores on September 21st. He and Ray Manzarek have recorded The Doors classic 'Riders on the Storm'

Electronic Arts Inc. today announced that the Grammy award-winning rock band Linkin Park will headline the in-game soundtrack for Medal of Honor with the lead song to their new album A Thousand Suns (releasing on September 14). Here's a preview of Linkin Park's new single, The Catalyst from the upcoming album A Thousand Suns. The single will be out on August 2 and the album is available for pre-order at LinkinPark.com. The CD+DVD set is a holographic, foil board digipak case that contains the album and the making of A Thousand Suns documentary.

According to Triple M, Linkin Park's 2010 tour will include Australia, they're coming in December.
We have just got word that American rap/rockers Linkin Park will bring their hostile, angst-ridden sound to Australia this December. Music reporter Nui Te Koha told us: "We can exclusively reveal that Linkin Park is coming here in December. They'll be here right in the middle of Bon Jovi. This will be an arena tour so it will be Rod Laver Arena."

Linkin Park wants to put you on their new album with their "Linkin Park, Featuring YOU" contest. Unfortunately, not everyone is eligible. So we've once again teamed up with LP Underground, LP Association and LP Live for another big giveaway. Because not everyone is eligible for the official "Linkin Park, Featuring YOU" contest on MySpace, we're giving those fans that are ineligible for the official contest a chance to win with us and get some recognition for their hard work.
The rules are simple: the ONLY people who can enter this contest are the fans who are ineligible for the official contest (you're not 18, your country isn't eligible, etc.). Mike has updated his blog with instructions on where and how to submit your version "The Catalyst" to the "Linkin Park, Featuring You" contest.
Now that you have had the chance to start recording your versions of "The Catalyst," this is how you can submit them to the official contest.Go here and add the Indaba Music app to your MySpace profile. Continue to the Linkin Park contest page and follow the steps to upload your file. Only the tracks entered in the official contest can be considered for the grand prize.
If you don't have your own music production software, you can record using the mixer provided in the Indaba Music app.

Mike has answered a couple of questions regarding the remixes on his twitter here and here, he also said that the "official" version of "The Catalyst" on YouTube are fake. It's official, Linkin Park announce today that their new album, "A Thousand Suns" will be released on September 14th and their new single "The Catalyst" will be out on August 2nd. The band are also giving fans a chance to be on the album, all they have to do is remix the single "The Catalyst" and the best one chosen will be included in the album. More details from Mike below.
No puzzles or hidden messages with this one. We're excited to finally announce that our new album, A THOUSAND SUNS, will be released on September 14th.The lead single for the album is called "The Catalyst." It will be released on August 2nd.
Beginning tomorrow, July 9th, we're teaming up with MySpace for "Linkin Park, Featuring You," a contest which gives you the one-of-a-kind opportunity to be on our new album. We'll be giving you some audio from "The Catalyst," and you get to take it from there; you can remix the parts, write something over them, or mute stuff and write something totally new. We may choose a remix of the song, and put it on the album…or, we may choose an amazing keyboardist, string quartet, guitarist, percussion group, or other musician, and invite them into the studio to play on one of our songs.
